Frequently Asked Questions
Last updated: October 2, 2026
Do I get a prescription automatically when I sign up?+
No. Payment of any fee does not guarantee a prescription. A licensed medical provider will evaluate you through a telehealth visit and determine, in their clinical judgment, whether a prescription is appropriate for you. The provider may approve, modify, deny, or recommend an alternative course of treatment.
Who decides if I qualify for treatment?+
An independent licensed medical provider, licensed in the state where you are located at the time of your visit, makes all clinical decisions. The Platform does not interfere with or override clinical judgment.
Who fills the prescription?+
Approved prescriptions are routed to a licensed United States pharmacy that fills and ships the medication directly to you. See our Pharmacy & Fulfillment page for details.
Is care available in every state?+
No. Coverage depends on where our providers are licensed and may change over time. We confirm availability in your state during intake. See State Availability.
How much does it cost?+
Each treatment has one price that includes your provider visit, the medication and shipping, shown before you pay. If your treatment needs blood work and you choose a Quest lab panel, its price is added at checkout. If your provider decides the treatment is not right for you, we refund everything except the visit fee and any lab panel. The visit fee is $35 for an online visit, or $60 for treatments that include a live video visit. A lab panel is ordered for you as soon as you pay, so it is not refunded.
Do you accept insurance?+
No. ForbiddenRx is a cash-pay service. We do not accept or bill health insurance. You may submit our receipts to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement at your own discretion.
Is this a subscription?+
No. Each order is a one-time charge for the supply you choose (1 month, or 3 months where offered). Nothing renews automatically; reorder from your dashboard when you need more. See our Terms for the full refund policy.
What is a 503A compounded medication?+
A 503A compounded medication is a personalized preparation made by a licensed pharmacist for a specific patient pursuant to a valid prescription. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not verify the safety, efficacy, or quality of compounded preparations. Your provider will discuss compounded options and any commercially available FDA-approved alternatives. See our Pharmacy & Fulfillment page for the full disclosure.
What happens during the telehealth visit?+
You answer a medical questionnaire online, and a licensed provider in your state reviews your answers, may follow up with questions, and decides whether prescription medication is appropriate. A few treatments, such as testosterone therapy, also include a short video visit, which you book from your order page.
How long does it take to receive my medication?+
Once your provider approves a prescription, the dispensing pharmacy typically ships within 1–3 business days. Standard shipping takes an additional 3–7 business days depending on your location and the type of medication.
Can I message my provider?+
Yes. Email support@forbiddenrx.co or call (888) 355-4248 and we will pass your question to your treating provider. Provider replies typically take 1–2 business days. For an emergency, call 911.
What if I have a medical emergency?+
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately. ForbiddenRx is not for medical emergencies. Do not use the Service in place of emergency care.
